Didja ever notice...Some flyers, posters, websites and signs look GREAT, while others make your eyes hurt?

In this workshop you will learn to use the basic principles of design to consistently create outstanding layout that is attractive, readable, and effective. Material covered will include:

  • Examples and counterexamples of great design
  • The basics of layout (grid theory, Mondrianic design, chaotic design, deconstructed design )
  • Simplified color theory (warm, cold, color wheel, complementary,)
  • Rules for fonts and legibility
  • Images and photographs
  • Overview of graphic design software tools:

If you have a design (or designs) you are working on, bring them to class and apply what you're learning in real time! Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher and Word will be available.
