Join us for a presentation by Nancy Koester, Ph.D. about the life story of Harriet Beecher Stowe—woman of faith, fascinating Civil War figure, and author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Koester’s Minnesota Book Award-winning biography, Harriet Beecher Stowe: A Spiritual Life, discusses the life of a woman who dared to speak against slavery—in a time when women could not even vote. Stowe’s anti-slavery novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, helped change American history by showing that slavery must be stopped and made Stowe the best-selling author of the 19th century. Anyone who is interested in slavery in America, women’s history, women’s literature, the Civil War or biography will enjoy this event!
