Born in Athens, Georgia, Grammy-nominated acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke was raised in 12 different states, and as a result absorbed a variety of musical influences from delta blues to jazz to folk music. While his sound originated on violin and trombone, he became quickly and widely known for his innovative fingerpicking on both 6 and 12-string guitars. Kottke has overcome a series of personal obstacles, including partial loss of hearing and a nearly career-ending bout with tendon damage in his right hand, to emerge as an undisputed master of his instrument.
