Award-winning author Daniel Stashower will discusses new book, "The Hour of Peril: The Secret Plot to Murder Lincoln Before the Civil War," which tells the true story of the plot to assassinate Lincoln during his train trip to Washington to be sworn in as president. Legendary detective and Illinois resident Allan Pinkerton set about to uncover the details. The threat, known as the “Baltimore Plot,” is one of the great untold tales of the Civil War era. Books will be for sale and the event will conclude with a book signing.
