Hear, award-winning paleontologist, Joe (PaleoJeo) Kchodl tell stories about the various creatures that once inhabited these ancient tropical seas that covered much of the Midwest.
In addition to this presentation, there will be an exhibit placed around the library showcasing commonly found Devonian fossils of the Michigan Basin. It will be an exploration of the richness of life in Michigan over 350 million years ago. Fossils displayed will include Corals, Brachiopods, Crinoids, Gastropods, Cephalopods, Clams, Placoderm Fish, and 200 million year old Carboniferous plant material.
The Fossils of the Michigan Basin exhibit will be available for patrons to view from August 10th - September 11th.
