Do you think you have what it takes to be a writer? Have people told you that your life experiences would make a great book? What are you waiting for? Writers come from all walks of life and many write well into their senior years. There is no time like the present to begin what can be a life-long passion of writing for your own fulfillment and or to enlighten, entertain, amuse or inspire others.
A Free Monthly meeting for writers and would-be writers, who want to write, sell and market their works.
Directed by Carlotta G. Holton BA, MA; , a Chester Twp. award-winning author and journalist/editor (The Record; The New York Times Jersey Weekly section) who has taught writing at the College of St. Elizabeth and Union County college and has published fiction works, Grave Matters (2015 Honorable mention at The New England Book Festival) ; Deadly Innocence; Vampire Resurrection; Touching the Dead and Salem Pact as well as the non-fiction, Getting Out of Limbo. The former Executive Director of the New Jersey Press Women’s Association and member of the National association of Press Women, she presently writes a column for The Observer Tribune.

The group will meet once a month either the first Friday of each month from 10 a.m.to noon
The first hour we will address such topics as genre; how do I learn to write better?
Tips to writing every day. Is journaling a good idea? How does it work? How can I use it to develop a story idea? How can I translate my life/work experiences into a book/short story?
Exercises: including brainstorming – which can thwart writer’s block – using topics to expand your thoughts on topics relevant to your project?
Hour two: share what you have written for comments/suggestions.
