 The library will co-sponsor an event with Word, Blue Hill Literary Arts Festival, featuring Maria Russo, Children's Books Editor at the New York Times, who will speak about the importance of children's literacy.

Former BHPL youth librarian Pat Horton will interview Maria about how to help parents and educators instill a love of reading. Russo’s new book, "How to Raise a Reader" (co-authored with Pamela Paul) is a parent's guide to raising a lifelong reader, packed with practical ideas for engaging children of all ages in books.

This program is co-sponsored by the library and Word: Blue Hill Literary Arts Festival. There is no charge and everyone is welcome. For more information call the library at 374-5515.
