Kim Ridley Event Type: Library-sponsored Juvenile Event
Date: 10/21/2017
Start Time: 10:00 AM
End Time: 10:45 AM
Description:
The Blue Hill Public Library will hold a nature-writing event for kids on Saturday October 21st as part of Word: Blue Hill Literary Arts Festival. Local science writer and children's book author Kim Ridley will lead a nature-writing workshop for ages eight and up at 10:00 AM. Kim will share fun prompts and “secrets” for writing about nature, and participants will each create a piece of writing and come away with inspiration to keep their own nature journals.

Kim Ridley is a science writer, essayist, and award-winning author of nonfiction books for children. Kim’s new middle grade book, Extreme Survivors: Animals That Time Forgot, will be published in November.

This program is co-sponsored by the library and Word: Blue Hill Literary Arts Festival. There is no charge and everyone is welcome. For more information call the library at 374-5515. Additional information about Word: Blue Hill Literary Arts Festival, including workshops with a registration fee and events at other venues, can be found at Wordfestival.org.
