Downeast Audubon: Owl Pellet Investigation

Owl Event Type: Library-sponsored Juvenile Event
Date: 10/25/2017
Start Time: 3:30 PM
End Time: 4:15 PM
Description:
Kids are invited to learn about owls by dissecting an owl pellet at the Blue Hill Public Library on Wednesday, October 25th at 3:30 PM. Julianne Taylor, education coordinator for Downeast Audubon and Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust, will lead kids in an investigation to see what owls eat as prey by trying to identify the different bones found in the pellets, which are bones and other things that they canít digest.

Through examining owl pellets kids will learn about the life history of owls and their important role in the forest food chain. This program is sponsored by the library and Downeast Audubon. For more information call the Library at 374-5515.
