Downeast Audubon: The Science of Leaves

 Kids are invited to an afterschool nature program about leaves at the Blue Hill Public Library on Wednesday, October 11th at 3:30 PM. Julianne Taylor, education coordinator for Downeast Audubon and Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust will talk about why leaves change color in the fall. She will lead the kids in an investigation of this question and the science behind fall foliage with a mini science experiment and art project.

Kids will examine the leaves of different deciduous tree species found in local forests and yards and take home a helpful identification guide to display at home. This program is co-sponsored by the library and Downeast Audubon. Everyone is welcome. For more information call the Library at 374-5515.
