Pianist Deborrah Wyndham shares the history of our nation's first 'pop' music: ragtime. Ragtime influenced many other musicians and styles of music. With different ethnic musical influences and at first rejected by society for its unusual, syncopated rhythm and venues where it was played, ragtime later on received wide acclaim and its popularity spread fast. Ragtime is an important part of our American musical heritage. Pianist/composer Deborrah Wyndham, has given over 3,000 performances, plays a wide variety of music from ragtime and other early jazz styles to original contemporary music. With appearances on FOX, NBC and ABC, listeners have described her playing as sounding 'like four hands'. Deborrah performs regularly throughout the States.
