Abraham Lincoln gave his Gettysburg address 150 years ago today. Lincoln was not the featured speaker on this day and had been asked to give a “few appropriate remarks on the occasion of the dedication of the military cemetery at Gettysburg.” Dean Dorrell, as Abraham Lincoln, will cover events leading up to Gettysburg and present this famous speech of only 272 words. Dorrell has been performing on stage for over 35 years, and has been portraying Abraham Lincoln for over seventeen years in schools, on stage, and in commercials. This will be Dorrell’s third visit to the library. Program sponsored by the Bartholomew County Library Associates.
