 Wisconsin author and scholar Harvey J. Kaye has published 15 books on history, politics, and ideas, the most recent of which is The Fight for the Four Freedoms: What Made FDR and the Greatest Generation Truly Great. Kaye is noted for his ability to elucidate complex issues and bring history to life.

In his talk at the Fox Cities Book Festival, Kaye will focus on the ways in which leaders like FDR helped make America and the world safer.

Kaye is the Ben & Joyce Rosenberg Professor of Democracy and Justice Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. In addition to his books, he has published articles and essays in an array of publications, including the Washington Post and Salon.com. He has also appeared as a guest on many television and radio programs. Kaye received his B.A. at Rutgers, his M.A. at the University of London, and his Ph.D. at Louisiana State University. He lives with his wife Lorna in Green Bay, where they raised two daughters and root for the Packers.
