Description:
Join APL and IDEAco for a three-hour City X Project workshop that gets kids 3D printing for space explorers! The City X Project is an international curriculum that teaches kids about creativity and problem solving using exciting 3D printing technology. It began right here in Appleton and has since reached kids in more 52 countries.

This event is also a celebration of a milestone for City X, Appleton, and humanity itself. We'll be celebrating with Space Kid, 11-year-old James from Appleton's Edison Elementary School, who participated in the City X Project workshop last year. His model has been selected as the first civilian-designed object ever do be manufactured off of Earth when it is printed on the International Space Station in Spring 2015.

Join us as we celebrate, hear from Space Kid himself, and host a public City X Project workshop in which kids will actually get their hands on 3D printers and practice 3D modeling to solve problems in outer space. The mayor will even be on hand to open the ceremonies with a Space Kid day declaration. The beginning of the program is open to the public from 1:00-2:00pm, but the workshop from 2:00-4:00pm requires registration and is capped at 30 students ages 8-12. Participants will need a laptop or iPad with the 123d Design app for the program.
