Description:
Featuring Very Young Girls. The title reflects the fact that in the United States the average age of entry into prostitution is just thirteen. The film takes us into the work of a former sexually exploited youth-turned-activist named Rachel Lloyd, who started the New York City organization GEMS (Girls Educational and Mentoring Services) to help victimized young women escape their pimps and find another way of life. This film is intended for mature audiences due to the use of profanity and the adult nature of the film. Co-sponsored and funded by the Women's Fund for the Fox Valley Region, Inc. An optional discussion period will follow the screening. It will be facilitated by Nicole Tynan and Elizabeth Hoffman of Reach Counseling Services, Inc. Refreshments served. Free admission.
