ReviewsTitle: On the Wings of Heroes by Richard Peck Review: It was a great book! It is a book about world war II. The main character is a boy named Davy Bowman. Davy's brother Bill goes to war after Pearl Harbor was bombed. Their elderly neighbors, the Hiser's liked noise. He also liked playing around the tree that the Hiser's owned. The book is about how Davy's life changed from playing hide and seek to collecting metal for the war. I think most kids would enjoy this book....Check the Library Catalog for this item! Title: American Tall Tales by Mary Pope Osborne Review: This book has stories about John Henry, Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, Davy Crockett, Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind, Mose and Febold Feboldson. My favorite was Febold Feboldson because it was silly. The silly part was that one of the strips of fog seeped out from the ground and looked like a ghost and scared all the clouds away. I like tall tales because they are silly and they exaggerate....Check the Library Catalog for this item!
